Anstich is the first tapping of a beer and Beerwanderers recently attended the 2nd annual Rauchbieranstich at Brauerei Knoblach in Schammelsdorf.
Knoblach's Rauchbier is new smoky edition to Knoblach's line-up. It has a light but firm smokiness and a long dry bitter finish.
Knoblach's Räuschla is a great introduction to smoke beer with a light smokiness to its well-balanced and dry palate.
Hönig's Bockbier is a nice mix of malt and hops with a clean bitter finish.
Der Dunkle Reh-Bock is a fine Dopplebock with a rich malty palate and bittersweet finish.
The 7 Brewery Trail or 7 Brauereienweg is one of the top beer hiking trails in not only Franconia, but likely the world. With six breweries and two top Bierkellers en route and some lovely rural scenery, you can't go wrong walking this great trail.
Griess Kellerbier is about as perfect a session drinking beer as you'll find, with a dry fruity palate and long slightly bitter finish.
Hönig's Lagerbier is perhaps even better than their tasty Pils, truly a perfect beer for their lovely Biergarten.
