unfiltered red beer in logo glass
Tucher Original Nürnberger Rotbier

Brewery: Tucher
Town:
Fürth/Nürnberg
Style:
Rotbier 5.5%
Color: unfiltered amber
to red
Head: off-white
, rocky
Nose: light malt, some spice and hops

Body: medium

Palate: balanced, malty, very slight butter

Finish: lingering, dry

Served: on tap at the Wirtshaus Tucherbräu am Opernhaus

Impression: Nicely poured with a fair head and appealing if faint nose. It’s balanced and dry enough with a hint of spice in the malt/hops mix. The lingering finish is uncertain and just that bit cloying. I’ll be interested to see if this is the same as the Grüner Rotbier as this is a couple of notches below Schanzenbräu and not as good as Bruderherz either.

    1. Of course, I didn’t even know there was an opera house until going over for this beer research. I have an idea, you can do the opera houses and I can do the breweries? Oh, we’re already doing that. Thanks for stopping by and perhaps you can grab a meal here next time you’re in Nürnberg for the opera!
