Roppelt (Trossenfurt) Bockbier

Brewery: Roppelt
Style: Bock 6.9
Color: amber

Head: ivory,
rocky, ample, lasting
Nose: richly malty, caramel

richly malty, caramel, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery

Impression: I was super happy when a friend from the area picked this up as evidently it’s the first time they’ve brewed a Bock in some years. Gorgeous light amber hue with an ample lasting ivory head. The rich malty nose has some caramel which carries into the balanced palate. The lingering finish is semi-dry and bittersweet. Love it being just under 7% as this could have been sticky if appreciably stronger which seems the trend in Bocks lately. A very tasty Bock you could drink a few of!
