Fischer Das Bockbier

Brewery: Fischer
Town:
Wieseth

Bock 7.5%

amber

richly malty, biscuit, honey

Palate: balanced, richly
malty, a touch of honey, alcohol
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, bittersweet

Served: from a bottle bought in the area

Impression: I had been looking for this Bock since discovering the Fischer beers a few years back. I was expecting a Hellerbock but was pleasantly surprised to find an amber very much in the mold of their Spezial. This is obviously much maltier but it has the same biscuit element along with a touch of honey. There’s also some pronounced alcohol, perhaps unsurprising at 7.5%. It’s still a semi-dry bittersweet treat but I’d have liked to see it at 6.5%, halfway back to the 5.5% of their flagship Spezial.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
