Zehendner Weihnachtsbock

beer in mug with pretzels

Zehendner Weihnachtsbock

Brewery: Zehendner
Town:
Mönchsambach
Style:
Heller Bock
Color:
honeycomb, unfiltered
Head:
white, fluffy, creamy
Nose:
fruity
Body:
soft, low carbonation
Palate:
great mix of malt and hops, quite dry for strength
Finish: long dry and bittersweet

Served: gravity dispense at the brewery

Impression: Great Bockbieranstich (first tapping of the seasonal bock) at the brewery a couple weeks before Christmas. Served from the barrel without C02, it had a great soft palate which likely took some of the bitterness from the obvious hop presence. Fantastic oscillation between malty and hoppy elements  The finish was long, dry and bitter.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
