beer in pewter lidded mug with swingtop bottle
Klosterbräu Mallersdorf Vollbier Zoigl

Brewery: Klosterbrauerei
Town:
Mallersdorf
Style:
Zoigl 5%
Color:
unfiltered golden
Head: white, rocky
Nose:
malty, grainy
Body:
medium
Palate:
balanced, malty, light grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: from a bottle bought at the brewery

Impression:  I had this ages ago and liked it though never investigated where the brewery was. I finally made my way there. The Zoigl isn’t on tap so I got a couple bottles to go. There’s a light graininess to the malty palate. It’s quite a bit lighter than the Jubiläumsbier and not nearly as hoppy but a tasty quaffer nonetheless.

Back to the next Klosterbier.
