Klosterbräu Mallersdorf Vollbier Hell
Brewery: Klosterbrauerei
Town: Mallersdorf
Style: Vollbier Hell
Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, rocky
Nose: malty, light grain, grassy notes
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, light grain, nice grassy element, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the Klosterbräustüberl Mallersdorf
Impression: This seemed overly simple on first sip but it’s one of those beers that grows on you. There’s a light graininess mixed with a touch of mown grass before the underlying hops kick in unobtrusively in the lingering semi-dry finish. The light bitterness in the finish is moreish. Lovely.
