Zoigl is more of a beer culture than a style. While largely confined to a few select areas in northern Bavaria, there is one very interesting example in the Allgäu region. Kaubeuren Zoigl Ludwigstrasse 47 has all the right ingredients and is well worth exploring if in the area.
Not far from Munich, Kloster Irsee is a great off the beaten path beer destination and walking there gives you views of the Alps and the Bavarian countryside.
Irseer Kloster-Urtrunk is a marvelous mix of hops and malt with some fine fruitiness thrown in. It's a beer worth the Pilgrim's walk.
