Nothhaft Antonius Starkbier Dunkel

dark beer in glass with bottle
Nothhaft Antonius Starkbier Dunkel

Brewery: Nothhaft
Town:
Marktredwitz
Style: Dopplebock

Color: deep mahogany

Head: rocky, tan
Nose:
rich malt
Body:
full
Palate: richly
malty, some burnt roast, slight licorice
Finish: long, dry, bittersweet

Served: from a bottle bought locally

Impression: This was surprisingly good, especially since I drank it on a warm day in my mother-in-law’s backyard. It looked amazing and it was full of flavor. The hint of licorice was quite nice. The finish was very nice and relatively dry for 7.5%. I’d seek this out on tap for sure.
