South Africa really does have it all, from rugged coastline scenery to mountain trails full of vistas. There's wine, leopards and yes, even craft beer.
The Garden Route is justifiably one of the most popular scenic drives in South Africa. While not a great area for craft beer, if you look and stop, you shall be rewarded.
Mitchell's Forester's Lager is a very light beer so perhaps nice for someone very new to craft beer. It's relative lac of flavor might be appealing to newbies and I must say, it did have a nicer and drier finish than many beers in its category.
Sedgefield Craft Beer Brewery is a worthwhile stop if on the Garden Route. Their Porter & IPA are top notch.
Sedgefield IPA is a classic of the style, beautifully hoppy and soft. The citrusy palate and long dry finish are moreish.
Sedgefield Porter is a classic of the style, beautifully dark and soft. The roasty palate and long dry finish are moreish.
