Impression: Scherdel Schlappenbier is a richly malty amber Bock of 6.5% alcohol. Brewed for Schlappentag in Hof, it’s a limited release for the Hof public holiday which falls on the Monday following Whit Monday. Its nose has toasted malt and caramel. The malt forward brew is spicy with some burnt caramel notes. The lingering finish is semi-dry and bittersweet. It’s certainly a full-flavored well-made beer but a little more hops in the mix would make it more süffig for me.
