Kanone 39er Pils
Brewery: Kanone
Town: Schnaittach
Style: Pils 4.9%
Color: unfiltered golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: grassy hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, grassy hops, very light grain
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the Kanone Bräustüberl
Impression: This golden unfiltered Pils has a similar creamy head as both previous beers but a nice mix between the very hoppy Sommerbier and maltier Helles. It’s a dry hoppy German Pils but has plenty of Franconia to it as well. The lingering finish is just dry and bitter enough to make it moreish. It’s only available on tap and generally only at the Bräustüberl in contrast to the bottles which are filtered and use a slightly different hop profile. It’s also 39 IBU compared to the regular Pils’ 33, hence the name.
