Staffelberg-Bräu Hopfen-Gold Pils

yellow beer in glass
Staffelberg-Bräu Hopfen-Gold Pils

Brewery: Staffelberg-Bräu
Town: Loffeld
Style: Pils
Color: pale yellow
Head: creamy, white
Nose: slight hop
Body: light, medium carbonation
Palate: clean, dry, faint grain, underlying hops
Finish: long, dry, bitter

Served: on tap at the brewery

Impression: I don’t order Pils an awful lot when in Franconia unless I’ve heard a brewery makes a good one. This was the case here at Staffelberg-Bräu. This one had won a gold medal at some festival, hence the name.  I had it just before lunch and it was a good aperitif, light bodied, dry and hoppy. It did the trick to trigger my appetite. I’m not sure this would be a session beer for me though I could certainly see many people throwing quite a few down as it’s not overly bitter and the clean finish is enticing.

Next beer or back to the beer list.
