Zirndorfer Hell
Brewery: Zirndorfer (owned by Tucher)
Town: Zirndorf
Style: Helles 4.8%
Color: golden
Head: white, creamy
Nose: grainy
Body: medium, a bit fizzy
Palate: balanced, malty, light grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at the Zirndorfer Bräuschank in Zirndorf
Impression: Served a bit too cold and fizzy with minimal attention to presentation but it’s nonetheless a serviceable example of the style. Golden hue with thin creamy head. Malt forward with a fair amount of grain in both the nose and palate. With some underlying hops, it’s balanced enough but the lingering finish is a tad sticky though perhaps less so than the Landbier. Wouldn’t seek it out but glad I got it and would likely choose it over the Landbier if those were the only two choices.
