Impression: I had this beer in 2012 quite by accident without having ever heard of it before and then again at the a pub in Forchheim more recently. I finally made it to the brewpub in Drügendorf and as is the case, it always seems better at the source. It’s a malt lover’s delight with some toasted malt in both the nose and palate and some burnt caramel for good measure. All that said, it’s not a sweet beer and has a reasonably dry finish. I’d still like a bit more hops in the mix but it’s a truly quaffable brew nonetheless.
