Greif Weihnachtsfestbier
Brewery: Greif
Town: Forchheim
Style: Festbier
Color: amber
Head: white, creamy
Nose: malty, some spice
Body: medium-bodied, medium carbonation
Palate: rich malt, fair hopping, some spiciness, fruity
Finish: long, dry, bitter
Served: from a bottle served at the brewery
Impression: I was on a quest for Fests (and Bocks) this day so despite their Festbier only being available in bottled form and their Hell being gravity dispensed, I opted for it. I was glad I did, as it was a very nice Fest, with some spiciness and fair hopping to go with the requisite malty palate. It was a bit cold but as it warmed up, some fruitiness also popped through and the finish was drier and more bitter than most Fests.
