Impression: I’ve made it a point to stop by this renowned brewpub for all their seasonals and am getting close to being able to say I’ve had them all on tap. This Festbier was surprisingly good. It came out looking gorgeous with a fine clear light amber hue and massive head. The brewer’s son is now brewing and still knows how to pour a proper beer. I’m not generally a huge fan of Festbiers but this one had some fair hopping right from the start to balance out the obvious rich malt in the beer’s profile. It also had a very clean somewhat bitter finish, something rare in the style in my experience. I got some bottles to go and have to say, they did not live up to the tap version. My wife was disappointed as she was driving and only had one small sip while there. Guess we’ll have to go back and try and score a room.
