Founded and in the same family since 1875 though out of their hands during Soviet occupation after WWII until Germany’s Reunification in 1990. This mid-size regional brewery produces a large range of beers and has fair reach in their area. Though they do not have a brewery tap, they do have a small gift shop where both glassware and their bottled beer is available. They have a good selection refrigerated and you can drink them in their nicely decorated Hof Biergarten.  There are non-branded glasses to use outside or you can buy a Dittmar glass at a very reasonable €3.

Though tours have to be prearranged and are only available for groups of 10 or more, you can walk around and check out some of the old historical brewing equipment.

Communication with the brewery prior to our visit was good and friendly, though exclusively in German.  The woman in the gift shop was very nice.
