Impression: Don’t generally go for these Craft Beer takes on hoppy lagers from traditional breweries but we’d just found a home in Bamberg and thought it would make a great first beer on our balcony. Gorgeous pour with a massive rocky chiffon-like head and citrusy hoppy nose. The balanced palate features a nice spicy hop element in the otherwise citrusy palate. The lingering finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. They partially use hop extract which adds a bit more bitterness than perhaps desirable or intended. It’s better than many such attempts and while I enjoy it, I like their more traditional beers more due largely to their being more thirst quenching.
