Impression: Wendelsteiner Kellerbier is an unfiltered light amber rustic example of the style. There’s lots of grain and hops in the enticing nose. The balanced palate is malty with light grain notes and fair hopping. The lingering finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. It’s quite soft due to the low carbonation, so an easy drinker for sure. Wendelsteiner Kellerbier was a nice surprise. I’d seen Brauverein Schwabach heralding a guess brewery I’d not hear of. I mapped it and it’s not so far from Schwabach. I quite liked the beer and will look for their festivals, as well. A Rotbier and Helles were coming up after the Kellerbier kicked, but I had plans to meet friends at the Annafest.
