Impression: Budenschuster Weizen is an unusually hoppy example of the style. Dark honeycomb with a chiffon like rocky head, the nose is an intriguing mix of yeast and hops. The hop forward palate is similarly yeasty with an underlying fruity element. The lingering finish is quite dry, especially for a Weizen, with fair bitterness. It seemed quite a bit more fruity the second time around, after having the Lager. Admittedly, the Lager is quite hoppy. I still enjoyed it but it goes to show how important the order effect is.
