Impression: Brauerei Schwan Maibock is a richly malty unfiltered chestnut example of the style. There’s burnt caramel and a hint of roast in the nose. The richly malty palate is more of the same. Underlying hops make for a lingering semi-dry bittersweet finish. This seems much different than the one I had in 2017 but it appears it’s always a chestnut Bock.
