Impression: Eschenbacher is a relatively large regional brewery in Lower Franconia which dates back to 1750. Despite its production, it’s not well known outside of the area. They produce a full line of traditional styles. Eschenbacher’s entry in the Kellerbier style is an unfiltered deep golden example. It has both a grainy nose and palate. It’s fairly balanced in a malty way but it’s a little thin on flavor overall. The finish meanders a bit but isn’t sticky. The beer’s not bad but I wouldn’t buy it again.

I still am amazed at breweries dating back to the 18th century – very few in the US!
The funny thing is, Don, here 1750 is a relatively young brewery. Many from the 1600 and 1500s, and some even older than that.
