Reutberger Export Dunkel
Brewery: Klosterbrauerei Reutberg
Town: Reutberg
Style: Dunkles
Color: chestnut
Head: rocky, tan
Nose: slight chocolate
Body: medium
Palate: richly malty with some chocolate, fading hops
Finish: long, semi-dry, bittersweet
Served: on tap at the brewery’s Klosterbräustüberl in Reutberg
Impression: This is one gorgeous looking brew with a head to make any beer envious. There’s a nice chocolate note to both the nose and palate but it also has some fading hops that keep it honest in the dryish finish. It’s super drinkable at 4.9%. A beer worth the walk!
This is one of my favorite dark beers in southern Bavaria but my favorite beers hail from Franconia.
