Impression: Hoh was another small village brewery that had eluded me for years. I’d designed a small hike from Scheßlitz to the Geichburg castle and from there to Köttensdorf, where Hoh is located. I was glad to see that they had their Bock on tap so I couldn’t resist despite having a half hour hike back to catch our bus and about fifteen minutes to drink the beer. It was well worth the effort, with a rich malty palate that never came close to be being cloying. The finish was fairly dry and bitter for a bock, making it quite moreish, though in this case, there would be no more.
