Müller Bock
Brewery: Müller
Town: Reundorf
Style: Heller Bock
Color: deep golden
Head: white, thinning
Nose: malty but a hint of hops
Body: full-bodied, low carbonation
Palate: big malty flavor but lots of hops, quite dry for strength
Finish: dry and bitter
Served: gravity dispense tap at the brewery‘s keller
Impression: Great Bockbieranstich (first tapping of the seasonal bock) at the brewery’s Schmausenkeller on the outskirts of town. Served from the barrel without C02, it had a great soft palate which likely took some of the bitterness from the obvious hop presence. Initially malty, it swung to the hoppy side quickly enough and not easy to see it being the bigger sibling to their regular Kellerbier and Pils. The finish was long, dry and bitter.
