This smartly done restaurant pub features a traditional dark wood interior with walls adorned by rotating exhibitions by local artists, which are for sale. However nice, their lovely shady Biergarten is the star of the show. Though it’s not a true Biergarten in the sense you can’t bring your own food to, it operates like one otherwise. You go inside, order your drink and food. You bring out the drink, they bring out the food. It works well for a quick meal and the do a fair lunch trade.

a smart artsy interior & charming Biergarten
Though tied somewhat to Zeltner Bierhaus, they have forged relationships with both Lindenbräu and Reh. Formerly, they did a guest beer as well but that seems to have gone by the wayside. I would guess that they do a special beer from one of their current suppliers. The restaurant features an eclectic creative menu of both vegetarian/vegan and meat entries.

Reh Landbier & Pils, and vegetarian meal
Though I love Lindenbräu Vollbier, I started off with the Reh Landbier Dunkel as I’d never seen it on tap. I had Rahmwirsing mit Baggers, a creamy savoy cabbage with potato pancakes. It was very tasty and though not overly large, it was a good portion for lunch. It was fairly priced for Nürnberg. I finished up with the Reh Pils, another beer I’d not had on tap.
I’d definitely return for a meal at this great little local and I can highly recommend a stop here.
Beers on tap: Zeltner Vollbier, Lindenbräu Vollbier, Reh Altfränkisch Landbier Dunkel, Reh Pils. A small assortment of bottled beers from Gutmann, Schanzenbräu & Spalter.
