Zeltner Vollbier
Brewery: Tucher (for Brauerei Zeltner)
Town: Fürth/Nürnberg
Style: Vollbier hell 5%
Color: golden
Head: white, rocky
Nose: light mix of grain and hops
Body: medium
Palate: balanced, malty, fruity, light grain, underlying hops
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter
Served: on tap at Zeltner Bierhaus
Impression: This was a last minute stop but glad I came. In addition to the house beer (which is brewed by Tucher), there’s two changing taps. Today it’s Stockel Spezial Dunkel and Bimberla Ungespundet. This golden beer was benefited by a slow careful pour and excellent presentation: gorgeous head, hue and clean logo glass. It’s certainly not a Munich Helles but not a high echelon Vollbier hell either. That said, it’s a fruity semi-dry golden brew with a lingering semi-bitter finish and if you are going to pretend to be a brewery, this place at least does a good job of it.
