Lauber Garten atmosphere
Lauber Garten is a bustling Biergarten in the otherwise quiet suburban town of Ebelsbach. Its compact area has a fair amount of leafy trees and plenty of umbrellas, so shade or a small shower won’t be a problem. They have live music for events but even on a regular evening, it’s filled with the voices of people chatting. If looking for serenity, this isn’t the best choice. If a fun spot after work is in order, it’s perfect. It seemed to be frequented entirely by locals, who come for good value food and beer.

The beer & food
Lauber Garten changed their beer from the more local Göller of nearby Zeil to Bamberg’s Fäßla. Evidently, it’s the owner’s favorite and it appears the locals like it, too. To his credit, they carry more of the Bamberg brewery’s beers on tap than the brewery itself does. In addition to those four, they still serve a Weizen from Göller to appease purists. They have a relatively simple everyday menu of largely cold items and a few standard warm meals. That said, they do have a few healthier options in both categories. Lauber Garten also generally has daily special, especially on weekends. I had a tasty homemade Sülze and my local Ebelsbach friend, the Strammer Max. The bread was decent, but I prefer Bratkartoffeln with my Sülze. I got to sample the rather bland Fäßla Helles and switched to the always enjoyable Zwergla.

some tasty meals at Lauber Garten
I quite liked the Lauber Garten. I would likely choose going to Göller in Zeil for a meal, but if looking for something simpler, and a bit closer to Bamberg, this busy little Biergarten will do the trick. If you’re a fan of Fäßla beer, you’ll find more on tap here than anywhere I know of. They’re in good shape, as well, and always so according to my friend. He’s a Lauber Garten regular and I could see why after one visit.
Beers: Fäßla Gold Pils, Lager, Zwergla & Helles, as well as Göller Sternhauer Weisse, all on tap.
