Impression: Kommunbräu Rehau Doppelbock is an unfiltered golden strong beer crowned with a creamy white head. The richly malty nose is tinged with spicy hops. The rich palate balances out with fair hopping. The lingering finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. This was one of the best beers I sampled on this very full day. These notes are sparse due to the number of beers sampled in a short time at the Bavarian Czechia Beer Tasting event held in Rehau. I look forward to returning to Rehau for one of the brewery’s own events. I’d enjoy drinking a few of these in a less rushed fashion.
