Schlosshof Zoigl
Brewery: Schlosshof
Town: Windischeschenbach
Style: Zoigl
Color: honeycomb, unfiltered
Head: white, thinning
Nose: hint of malt
Body: soft, low carbonation
Palate: dry and fruity, hint of chocolate
Finish: a touch of bitterness, long and dry
Served: from the tank at the brewery
Impression: This was probably my wife’s favorite Zoigl on our recent Zoigl hike. It lacked a bit of the bitterness of Teicher but it was a gorgeously fruity brew and the slight chocolate note was pleasantly different. It didn’t quite have the head of some of the others, either but the lovely soft palate made up for it. It didn’t hurt that the outside seating area was resplendent in flowers, either.
