Mühlendorf is a small village outside of Bamberg, easily reached by bus. There are some rural trails surrounding it so an excursion can be devised depending on where you are coming from and where you’re going. You can take the bus there and walk back partially via the Kapellenweg to Debring, and catch the bus back from there to Bamberg for instance. The trail to the Kapellenweg isn’t marked from town but begins as a horse path and is easy enough to find. Even without the walk, the town is a nice bus excursion and Mühlenbräu is well worth the short trip. They also run a Bierkeller in the warmer months which I recently got to check out.
