Founded in 1883 and in the Martin family ever since. It’s been run for 30 years by Maria Martin and one son is already a brewer and another a maltster so it appears it will safely continue so. Finally, a success story with what seems a happy ending. Traditional recipes are in place and local ingredients used whenever possible. They brew a full range of beers with a few seasonal beers as well. Every beer I sampled was at least quite good, both on tap and all bottles brought home. It’s nice to see a brewery stand behind their dark beer, which I quite liked.

some of the bottles I brought home

Beers: Martinsbräu Pils, Martinsbräu Weizen Hefe Hell, Martinsbräu Landbier Dunkel, Martinsbräu Helles, Martinsbräu Kellerbier, Martinsbräu Weizen Hefe Dunkel

Beer calendar:
Martinsbräu Doppelbock during Lent
Martinsbräu Märzen in March
Martinsbräu Maibock in April
Martinsbräu Laurenzi Festbier for their festival in August
Martinsbräu Weizenbock in winter

If in town, please have a meal at their Bräustüble, where three of their beers are are on tap.
