Marktheidenfeld is a pretty market town on the Main River in the Main-Spessart county of Lower Franconia. With its location on the winding river, there are unsurprisingly lots of walking opportunities and a fair amount of places to eat and rest your head. For such a small place, there are ample opportunities for the beer tourist as well.

Of course, for the beer driven, the reason to venture this way is Martinsbräu, which still runs a lovely half-timbered restaurant and a charming riverside Biergarten. A bonus it the newer Brauhaus 1816.
