This charming little Biergarten sits right on the Main River and was sadly closed the first day I dropped by due to an upcoming festival but I managed a nice visit a couple of months later on my way between Keiler Brauhaus and Bamberg. It was even prettier on a sunny day and with quite a few people enjoying one of the last Biergarten visits of the season.

I was hoping they’d have their Kellerbier on tap as it hadn’t been at their Bräustüble in town when I was there. So, I was happy to find it along with quite a few others. Sadly, it was on the warm side and from the amount of time it took the barman to pour it, I must have been the first one to drink it in some time. I’ll have to admit, most seemed to be drinking the Festbier so I tried that next as I’d liked the bottle I’d found last time in town. Unfortunately, this wasn’t as good as I’d remembered either so I got their Pils and it was again my favorite. They had a fair assortment of food but I’d had a huge lunch at Keiler so I just got a small Bratwurst Semmel, which was quite good.

It would have been easy hang here until dark but I still had to get to Bamberg, where I was spending the night. I guess it was a good thing the beer was a bit disappointing as it made it easier to leave the paradisaical Biergarten. I’d still like to return to give that Kellerbier another shot at a hopefully much colder serving temperature. They also have all of their seasonal beers on tap when they are available so many good reasons to return.
