Dinkelsbühl is stunning walled medieval town dotted with half-timbered houses and intact tower gates. Located on the famed Romantic Road, it is most easily reached by car as train service has ceased. There is a tourist bus which stops there in summer but getting there in the off-season by public transportation involves a few changes and more time than it should. I only made my way there recently but will surely be back again soon.

stunning Dinkelsbühl

As you might imagine, Dinkelsbühl has all the tourist infrastructure you’ll need with accommodation to fit all budgets and plenty of eateries. Adding to the allure of the medieval wonder is its having three breweries.

Den Wilden Mann (Brauerei Hauf)
Weib’s Brauhaus

Zur Schleuse (Stefansbräu)
