Altstadthof offers both overnight accommodation and a convenient restaurant in the heart of Seßlach. The inner courtyard is lovely and was amazingly quiet on the Saturday afternoon we stopped in. We’d eaten lunch at neighbor Gasthof Reinwand, but had some time to kill after our stroll around town. I noticed a couple of not easy to get beers on tap on their menu, so decided to saunter in while my wife was window shopping. I discovered a really tranquil courtyard so I was glad I had.

a great little oasis of a courtyard
Altstadthof Sesslach beers
They had a couple of relatively hard to get on tap beers, so I was doubly happy I’d decided to stop in. When visiting Brauerei Eller in Unteriemau a few years ago, I didn’t have time to try their Vollbier but had picked up a bottle. It was great to find it on tap. They also had the Märzenbier from nearby Brauerei Scharpf.

Since we’d eaten a huge lunch, we didn’t get a chance to try the food but imagine it’s good. We’d be happy to stop back for a meal or even just a beer in the quiet little courtyard.
Beer on tap: Eller Vollbier, Scharpf Märzenbier, Püls/Weismann Hefeweizen.
