Impression: : EKU Festbier is a richly malty deep golden example of the style. There’s some spicy notes in the nose and head retention is fair. The richly malty palate is typically spicy with a touch more hops than the standard Kulmbacher Festbier. The lingering finish is a bit drier than the standard Kulmbacher Festbier but disappointed it’s not hoppier from the description. This was my first time at Kulmbacher Bierwoche and felt it was a well-run festival.
