Impression: Schlossbrauerei Schwarzbacher Raub Ritter Dunkel has a chestnut hue and massive rocky off-white chiffon-like head. There’s just a hint of roast in the malty nose. The malty palate has a touch of roast and perhaps a hint of chocolate. The lingering finish is semi-dry and bittersweet. I’ll admit to a bit of disappointment after the stellar visual cues. That said, it’s well made and underlying hops creep up as it warms. I imagine it’s a fine beer with a dark sauce meal.
