Gottmansgrüner Pils

Gottmansgrüner Pils
Gottmansgrüner Pils

Brewery: contract brewed for Gottmansgrüner
Town:
formerly Gottmansgrün (possibly Naila now)
Style: Pils

Color:
yellow
Head: white, creamy
Nose: hoppy
, grainy
Body: medium

Palate: balanced,
 hoppy
Finish: lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter

Served: gravity dispense at the Bayerisch-Tschechisches Bierfestival.

Impression: Gottmansgrüner Pils is a textbook German Pils. Straw yellow hue and creamy white head atop a balanced hoppy brew.
The clean finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. Sadly, the brewery was sold off and closed in 2009. The resultant beer paled in comparison. In 2024, the rights were acquired by someone who sounds more sympathetic to returning the beer to its old glory. That said, they still brew it elsewhere (possibly MetaBrewSociety GmbH in Naila) but hopefully closer to the original. I would say it was a very tasty German Pils. These notes are sparse due to the number of beers sampled in a short time at the Bavarian Czechia Beer Tasting event held in Rehau.
