Brewery: BePu
Town: Förstenreuth (Stammbach)
Style: Vollbier
Color: unfiltered light amber
Head: white, creamy

Impression: BePu Heimatseidla is an unfiltered amber example of the style. There’s some grain in the otherwise malty nose. The balanced palate is rounded with grainy notes and underlying hops. The lingering finish is semi-dry and semi-bitter. This small brewery from Stammbach was founded in 2022 by two friends with the names Becher and Purucker. These notes are sparse due to the number of beers sampled in a short time at the Bavarian Czechia Beer Tasting event held in Rehau.
Back to the beer list.

From your recent posts, Rich, it seems like there are a lot of new breweries in the last few years which seems to be contrary to the trend in the US. With pandemic and economic closures, has there been a net gain?
Some of these breweries are so small, you’d almost say they are home brewers, Don. Some are like clubs, where you have to be a member to get beer. So, I’d say it’s not impossible for net breweries to be up, much like everywhere beer production is down. Most importantly, beer consumption is definitely down and demand is what drives any market.
