Impression: Kloster Vessra Klosterbräu is an unfiltered amber top-fermented Vollbier with a creamy off-white head. The grainy nose foretells of a similarly malty palate. Underlying hops dry it out in the lingering semi-bitter finish. The bottle I received a year prior was oxidized so it was great to get to the Museumsfest at Kloster Vessra in 2026 to try a much fresher sample on tap. Due to high demand, the small brewery brings their wort to a larger brewery, where the yeast is pitched. It is also lagered there until being brought back for the festival.
