Singer Pils
Brewery: Brauerei Schmitt
Town: Singen in Thuringia
Style: Pils
Color: unfiltered pale golden
Head: white, sudsy
Nose: citrus hops, spicy
Body: medium
Palate: dry, citrusy
Finish: lingering, dry, only slightly bitter
Served: on tap at the brewery
Impression: I wasn’t sure what to expect but this Thuringian beer but it was one rustic looking beer with an aromatic citrusy nose featuring some spiciness which carried over into the sublimely dry finish. It’s quite hoppy but certainly not overly bitter. Really nice.
Care for another Thuringian beer?

I'm an American living in Munich and Bamberg. Why? Well, I came for the beer but stayed for the girl. I'm very happily married to a German woman. Of course, the bonus of great beer certainly doesn't hurt. An avid love of hiking and finding new beers has led me to found Beerwanderers, an information resource on beer hiking trails in Franconia with an emphasis on Franconian food specialties and the endless variety of amazing beer the region is renowned for. I also published my first book Beer Hiking Bavaria which features 50 beer hikes in Bavaria and lead beer hiking experiences for those who love beer & nature. View all posts by beerwanderers
