Impression: Schwarzbacher Helles is a golden example of the style. The white head is ample but thinning. There’s some grain in both the nose and malty palate. The lingering finish is semi-dry. This was a bit of an strange first experience. Oddly enough, I’d been looking to try Schwarzbacher beers for a few years but hadn’t managed to get my hands on any. We had come to this festival to sample the local communal brewery beer so were a bit disappointed to find this in its place. It was a hot walk in so just about any beer was welcome. Though nothing amazing, it did hit the spot on the occasion.
