You never know what you’ll find when you pick out a village to spend the night solely on its brewpub but Trossenfurt was surprisingly charming. There wasn’t a lot to the town but the residents not only took a lot of pride in their homes but had an artsy streak in the decorating which you don’t generally find out in the countryside. The countryside surrounding is full of trails as it lies on many long distance routes including the Steigerwald Panoramaweg. There aren’t tons of places to stay but it’s worth finding one as Brauerei Roppelt is a fine one and their Bierkeller is one of the very best in the warmer months.
