Schnepperschütz

Schnepperschütz is a small riverside cafe right in the center of Nürnberg, yet miles away from the madness.

Schnepperschütz has a sweet lush park location right on the Pegnitz River. The riverside cafe is understandably popular, especially on a sunny day. Though very much in the center of Nürnberg, it is quite serene. I first learned about it while doing the Bockanstich calendar. The owner contacted me to let me know he was having one for Enzensteiner Bock. Both the place and brewery were new to me, but I unfortunately couldn’t make it. With some time to kill on a recent warm day, I made my way to Schnepperschütz for a quick Enzensteiner Landbier Hell. I must admit that I still am not sure where this beer is brewed but it’s likely a contract beer since Enzensteiner appears closed. That said, it was a new-for-me beer on hot summer day. So, needless to say, it hit the spot!

Riverside Schnepperschütz is understandably popular

Schnepperschütz beers on tap & food

While not exactly a must destination for beer, Schnepperschütz has a great location and its opening hours are super friendly. It also has an intriguing assortment of snacks which could be eaten any time of day, even breakfast. Obviously, there is an assortment of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages both hot and cold. I had already eaten and was on my way to a beer festival so I didn’t get to sample the food, but it sure looked great. Prices were moderate for Nürnberg. I didn’t have time to try the Enzensteiner Weizen either, so a good reason to return.
