Herbsthausen is an unassuming town in the Tauber Franken, a region of Franconia which lies largely in Baden Württemberg. It’s a pretty area of rolling hills more noted for wine than beer but it just happens to be home to the Herbsthäuser Brauerei. There is decent public transportation as well as a good network of hiking/biking paths including the Herbsthäuser Bierwanderweg.

While it’s unlikely I’d have ever made it here if not for the locally renowned brewery, it’s certainly reason enough to venture this way. Their restaurant is top notch and has a full range of their beers on tap.
