Impression: Schlechtsart Brauhaus Hausbräu is a low carbonation unfiltered amber ale with a grainy palate. It has a lingering, semi-dry, semi-bitter finish. The beer unfortunately had a sour element, which could mean an infection. These notes are sparse due to the number of beers sampled in a short time at the Southern Thuringian beer tasting event in Heldburg. I attended the Schlechtsart Backhausfest a few weeks later in 2026 but they had decided not to serve their beer. So, it’s high on my list again in 2027.
