First mentioned in the 13th century as Burgkunstadt, there are written documents about its being settled as early as 741 AD. It’s pretty much off the tourist grid unless you like beer history. It was home to three breweries as recently as 2006. It’s down to Günther-Bräu now and it’s not as easy to find their beers on tap as you might hope.
