Ebensfeld is a pretty little town just south of Bad Staffelstein. It’s easily accessed from Bamberg on very regular trains which take only about 15 minutes.

There’s little reason for the average tourist to venture there unless you’re into great small countryside breweries. It’s worthwhile considering it as a base as there it’s a great Bierkeller in town and two in neighboring villages. These are so close they are part of the Ebenseld postal code. There are some beer hiking trails too which makes visiting neighboring villages with a car possible. For those who want to explore it at a more leisurely pace, Ebensfeld offers plenty.
